THE LETTERS OF VINCENT
VINCENT VAN GOGH TRIBUTE
When Vincent moved to Paris in 1886, Japanese art, especially Japanese woodcuts, became a great influence on him. Vincent admired the bold designs, the intense colours and the elegant lines.
This influence is still evident in Van Gogh's later works.

Van Gogh letters paint a chronicle of his life.
There is a wonderful legacy of 903 surviving letters, mostly to his beloved younger brother Theo.
The letters are used now as an autobiographical journey of his life, as they reflect different facets of his personality, and the circumstances in which he found himself.
Van Gogh produced more than 2100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings and more than 1300 watercolours, drawings, sketches and prints before dying at the age of 37.
